Brief synopsis in English:
What would happen if Germany was poor and Greece was rich? How would
the Greek Cabinet deal with the request for a 100 Billion Euro
Set in Athens in 2019 using famous names from the looooong history of
Greece (Alcibiades, Mercouris, Leonidas, Venizelos), this satirical
film shows the reverse side of the current crisis in Greece.
Greece has now cashed in on its oil and gas reserves and true to form
they use a tavern to make a decision on how they will help Germany, or
With footage of Athens, the bleak reality of how people can respond to
poverty via rioting, the traditional Greek gathering around a dinner
table and the use of historical figures to illustrate that Greece
indeed has a long history and is going nowhere!
The leader in the film is the scheming Alcibiades who does not want to
provide any real assistance to Germany. And why would he when he can
enjoy his ouzo and keep Greece as a viable economy free from the
distraction of helping another country.
With an alternative ending and references to the glory of Greece of
yesterday, the film will help you think about what it means to be on
the other side of the fence.
